Network access and the CDN are provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States.

Service emails are sent through Resend when the production key is set. Audience measurement (PostHog, European Union) and payments (Stripe) are processors only when the matching module is turned on.

Data and purposes

We process your name, email address, profile picture if provided, linked account identifiers and sessions to create and secure your account. Your workspaces, preferences, video links, uploaded files, extraction settings, results and clips are used to carry out your requests and display your history.

Technical and security logs, which may include an IP address and browser information, are used to diagnose errors, prevent abuse and protect the service. Messages you send us are used to answer your requests.

Account management and extraction are necessary to perform the service you request. Security processing relies on our legitimate interest in protecting the service. Optional platform connections and optional audience measurement rely on your consent, which you can withdraw. Some data may be retained to meet a legal obligation.

Google connection and YouTube catalogue

Vidioq uses YouTube API Services. Google sign-in provides your Google identifier, name, email address and profile picture according to your account information. Linking YouTube is a separate action that requests your permission to read YouTube data. Vidioq never receives your Google password.

After you grant permission, we read your channel identifiers and names, their video lists and the metadata needed for the catalogue: identifier, title, thumbnail, publication date, duration, visibility and processing status. This information lets us show your channel’s public videos and select the one you wish to analyse. Private videos, unlisted videos and ongoing live streams are excluded from the displayed catalogue.

Access is read-only: Vidioq does not publish, modify or delete content on YouTube. Access and refresh tokens are stored on the server to maintain the connection. They are sent neither to the browser nor to the extraction engine. The engine receives the public link you selected. Google permission does not transfer any rights in the video and does not, by itself, authorise copying it.

We do not use Google or YouTube data for advertising, sale or training artificial intelligence models. Our use and transfer of this data follow the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google API Services User Data Policy.

See also the Google Privacy Policy. Use of the YouTube connection is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.

Retention and deletion

The YouTube catalogue is fetched on demand and is not stored as a durable copy in our database. The account connection and its tokens are retained while the account remains linked. A video link you submit and its processing information remain in your history until they or the account are deleted.

Temporary source files are subject to a 24-hour cleanup period after processing ends; clips expire after seven days. Technical analysis results for public videos may be reused for 30 days to avoid repeating an analysis. They do not contain your Google tokens. Account data is retained while the account is in use. Support requests and records needed for security or a legal obligation are retained for as long as that purpose requires.

You can revoke Vidioq’s access at any time in your Google security settings. This prevents further authorised YouTube requests. Revocation alone does not delete history or clips already created in Vidioq. You can unlink Google in your account’s sign-in methods, provided you retain another way to sign in, and request data deletion from Account > Privacy or through the contact above.

Recipients and security

Data is accessible to the publisher and the providers needed for hosting, network delivery, authentication and the features you use. Providers are listed above. Google receives requests needed for sign-in and the YouTube catalogue; loading thumbnails contacts its servers. Content in a shared workspace is accessible to authorised members of that workspace. Your OAuth tokens are not shared with those members.

Connections to the site use HTTPS, and access to account data requires authentication. Some providers, including Google and Cloudflare, may process data outside the European Union under their data protection terms. You can contact us for details about recipients and applicable safeguards.

Cookies and preferences

Session cookies and local storage maintain your sign-in and preferences. When PostHog audience measurement or session recording is enabled on this installation, it remains subject to your consent choices. You can change those choices in your account’s privacy preferences.

Your rights

You can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability of your data, and object to certain processing under the conditions set out in the GDPR. Account > Privacy provides export and deletion requests after you confirm your identity. For any request or complaint about your data, contact [email protected].

You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL. Open privacy requests.
